Released on May 1 by Amazon MGM Studios, the sequel picks up seven years after the events of the original film, "A Simple Favor", where Lively played the enigmatic Emily Nelson and Kendrick starred as the resourceful mommy blogger Stephanie Smothers.

In the latest installment, Emily invites Stephanie to be the maid of honor at her luxurious wedding on the island of Capri, Italy. The picturesque setting, however, conceals a darker agenda.
The trailer hints at unresolved tensions and possible revenge plots as Emily confronts Stephanie, saying, "Do you think I invited you to get revenge for stealing my life and taking my kid away from me?"
