AceShowbiz - During a recent appearance on Billy Corgan's "The Magnificent Others" podcast, Sharon Osbourne made a startling revelation. She admitted that her husband, Ozzy Osbourne, was offered a chance to read for a role in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise.

Given Ozzy's eccentric persona and theatrical stage presence, it's easy to imagine him fitting seamlessly into the swashbuckling world of Johnny Depp's "Pirates of the Caribbean." However, his chance to join the franchise was lost after Sharon regretfully declined the opportunity.

"Do you want to know the biggest mistake I ever made with Ozzy?" Sharon asked The Smashing Pumpkins' Corgan. "He got offered to go and read for 'Pirates of the Caribbean' - and I've never said this to anyone."

Corgan, visibly shocked, exclaimed, "And you said no?," to which Sharon confirmed. "I said no. Now, wouldn't he have been perfect?"

The Black Sabbath rocker did miss the opportunity to join the ranks of other rock legends who have appeared in the blockbuster franchise. The Rolling Stones' Keith Richards famously played Captain Teague, the father of Johnny Depp's Captain Jack Sparrow while Paul McCartney made an appearance as Jack Sparrow's uncle in "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales."

Despite this missed opportunity, Ozzy has still dabbled in Hollywood. His film credits include "Little Nicky", "Austin Powers in Goldmember", "Moulin Rouge!", and "Gnomeo & Juliet".

While battling numerous health struggles including his mobility issue following Parkinson's Disease diagnosis, Ozzy Osbourne remains active. He has been doing podcast and is next scheduled for a final show with his band.
