AceShowbiz - Jessica Alba has submitted necessary paperwork to end her marriage to Cash Warren after sixteen years of marriage, citing "irreconcilable differences."
The documents, filed in Los Angeles County court, reveal that both Alba and Warren are seeking joint physical and legal custody of their three children: Honor (16), Haven (13), and Hayes (7). The date of their separation is listed as December 27, 2024.
Alba announced their separation in January after weeks of speculation. "I've been on a journey of self-realization and transformation for years - both as an individual and in partnership with Cash... It's now time for us to embark on a new chapter of growth and evolution as individuals," Alba wrote, emphasizing their mutual respect and commitment to co-parenting.
Speculation about the split began when Alba was spotted multiple times without her wedding ring, including during a dinner with Italian producer Andrea Iervolino in Rome. The actress's December Instagram posts, which lacked any mention of Cash, also hinted at the impending separation. Her cryptic captions and inspirational quotes alluded to themes of self-improvement and reclaiming power in 2025.
Unlike many high-profile divorces, Alba and Warren have managed to keep their proceedings amicable. Both filed mirrored documents with their respective high-profile attorneys - Alba with Laura Wasser and Warren with Adam Lipsic - suggesting a smooth legal process.
TMZ sources describe the split as "extremely amicable." They reportedly has no prenuptial agreement, which means California's community property laws will apply and they have to shared assets and debts equally.
Though Alba has mostly stepped away from acting in recent years to focus on her business ventures, such as co-founding the Honest Company, her career revival is palpable. She starred in Netflix's "Trigger Warning" last year and the series "L.A.'s Finest", co-starring with Gabrielle Union. Warren, on the other hand, has launched a company Pair of Thieves, which produces underwear and socks.
The couple's amicable approach to their divorce illustrates how even amidst personal transformations, maintaining kindness and respect can set a positive example, especially for their children. As Alba stated, "Our children remain our highest priority and we request privacy at this time."
