AceShowbiz - Craig Conover shared his side of story folowing his tumultuous breakup from Paige DeSorbo, shedding light on the swirling rumors and personal heartbreak that have followed both reality TV stars since their November split.
The "Southern Charm" star made several revelations during his appearance on Bravo's "Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen" on February 6. Conover refuted her claim that the decision was mutual, "I got a text from her saying, 'I'm announcing [the split] on my podcast.' And then she said it was mutual, which it wasn't."
DeSorbo, who stars in "Summer House," had previously announced their split on her "Giggly Squad" podcast toward the end of December, just a month after they decided to part ways.
She emphasized that neither party had been unfaithful during their three-year relationship. "I never, in the three years that I dated my ex-boyfriend, I never physically cheated on him, emotionally cheated on him," she maintained during the podcast.
Throughout various interviews and social media posts, Conover kept mum on rumors alleging DeSorbo's infidelity and Desorbo apparently took issues with his silence. She accused him of adding fuel by refusing to deny the allegations.
However, Conover defended himself, "I don't want to be involved. I got broken up with. I'm the ex-boyfriend, moving on with my life. I'm not going to get sucked into the mud with them."
Conover reiterated that he had never accused Paige of cheating and had no desire to defend her via social media, adding, "I never said [she] cheated, so I'm not a part of [that]."
Their breakup timeline also proved to be a contentious topic. Conover shared how blindsided he felt by the breakup call he received from Paige while he was in Toronto, reflecting on their plans to spend the New Year together. "I was in Toronto about to do a show and was like, 'I think we have to break up.' And then we were like, 'Well, we'll talk about it,' " he recounted.
Despite the friction, Conover had positive reflections on their relationship, arguing against claims that Paige was mean to him. "I don't think Paige was [mean]... we were a very cute couple and she was nothing but supportive of me," he stated.
The former couple's breakup saga will likely continue to draw attention as it unfolds on their respective shows, "Southern Charm" and "Summer House."
Conover's approach to dealing with the aftermath is clear: focus on moving forward. As for his mantra in relationships, it has always been, "Love is enough. ... If two people love each other, you'll make it work."
