Country music artist Jelly Roll will join 'American Idol' for the upcoming season 23 as its inaugural resident artist, providing guidance to the show's aspiring singers.

Jelly Roll has been on a remarkable journey even before this new gig. He released his 10th studio album, "Beautifully Broken", in October and launched a 52-city tour in August. He's set to continue this tour across the U.S. and Canada throughout the spring and summer. Furthermore, he's collaborated with Eminem on the song "Somebody Save Me" and appeared in the TV series "Tulsa King" opposite Sylvester Stallone.
Besides Jelly Roll's dynamic presence, Carrie Underwood brings her own star power as she joins the judges' panel. Winning season 4 of "American Idol", Underwood has since become a multi-Grammy Award-winning artist. She succeeds Katy Perry and joins Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan, making it the first time an "Idol" alum has moved from contestant to judge.
