AceShowbiz - Tensions between Blake Lively, 37, and Justin Baldoni, 41, escalated both on and off the set of "It Ends With Us." Originating from creative differences over the film's script, the discord has now evolved into a complex legal battle.
In the latest development of the feud, a nearly seven-minute voice memo sent at 2 A.M. has leaked. In the recording, Baldoni issued a heartfelt apology to Lively.
"I want to start with an apology." Baldoni confessed, "Man, reading the second part of your message, my heart sank. I'm really sorry. I for sure fell short and you worked really hard on that. The way you framed it and how it made you feel, I just wanted to say thank you for sharing that with me."
"I f***ed up. That is a fail on my part," he continued. "One thing you should know about me, I will admit and apologize when I fail. I am far from perfect. I am a very flawed man as my wife will attest."
"I'm gonna f*** up. I'm gonna say the wrong thing. I'm gonna put my foot in my mouth. I'm gonna say the wrong thing, probably. But I will always apologize and find my way back to center. That is one thing I can assure you of."
"I'm sorry I made you feel that way. That must have felt terrible," he went on before promising, "I will for sure do better. That was not my best weekend. I should've given it more time."
Despite the heartfelt apology, the situation has only intensified. In January 2025, Baldoni's Wayfarer Studios filed a $400 million lawsuit against Lively and her publicist, Leslie Sloane, for alleged civil extortion and defamation.
The film's production woes became a public spectacle when Lively accused Baldoni of sexual harassment and fostering a hostile work environment. Her complaint has been met with Baldoni's staunch denial and counter-litigation.
Lively's team has labeled Baldoni's actions as "another chapter in the abuser playbook," while Baldoni's lawyer, Bryan Freedman, asserts that they will defend themselves with the truth, bolstering their case with a forthcoming website containing "all correspondence as well as relevant videos."
The voice memo came after Baldoni's team blocked Lively's attempt to obtain gag order. Baldoni previously released unedited footage that showed the filming of a romantic scene featuring the two stars. Both argued the behind-the-scene clip only served to prove their claims.
With a pre-trial hearing scheduled for February 3 and a larger trial set for March 9, the feud between two of Hollywood's most notable figures continues to unfold. For fans and followers of both actors, the ongoing litigation and public exchanges offer a sobering look at the complexities behind the glamor of Hollywood.
