AceShowbiz - Three years after the tragic demise of her husband Tom Parker, beloved member of boy band The Wanted, his widow Kelsey Parker has announced she is expecting a baby with her new partner, Will Lindsay.
Tom passed away in March 2022 at the age of 33 after battling brain cancer, leaving behind their two young children, Aurelia and Bodhi.
In an emotional interview with The Mirror, Kelsey shared that she and Tom had always envisioned having four children. "Tom and I always said we wanted four - but life had other plans. So yes, this is amazing but also bittersweet," said Kelsey. While she is excited about this new chapter, the blend of joy and grief is unmistakable.
Kelsey's new relationship with 27-year-old tree surgeon Will Lindsay has brought renewed happiness into her life. She revealed that the couple started dating last year and that Will gradually moved into the home she once shared with Tom.
Despite the bittersweet circumstances, Kelsey feels optimistic about her future. "All I care about is that both our families and Tom's family are happy. Noreen [Tom's mother] is the most amazing lady," she said.
The transition has been smooth for Kelsey's children, who are excited to welcome a new sibling. "Both of them had been going on and on for ages about wanting a brother or sister. So when Will came along, they were like, 'Can you have a baby now?' They're so funny," she shared. Aurelia even suggested naming the baby Parker if it turns out to be a boy.
Kelsey, who is spiritually inclined, noted that she feels Tom's blessing over her new journey. Spiritualists had even advised her to remove her wedding ring to open pathways for new love.
Reflecting on her previous traumatic births, Kelsey hopes for a calm home birth this time around. "I've been praying to Tom to send me a good birth. I think I deserve it," she added.
Will has seamlessly integrated into Kelsey's life, and their bond over shared spiritual beliefs further fortifies their relationship. "Will's seen them too - he doesn't think I'm crazy," Kelsey said regarding the signs she receives from Tom.
According to her, Will also embraced Kelsey's children affectionately, playing a fatherly role that has helped restore a sense of normalcy and joy to their household.
Despite facing some public criticism, Kelsey focuses on seeking joy and finding happiness for her family. "I'm a joy seeker. People are so sad about what happened to me and the kids. I get it, but I can't live in sadness. I have two young children who are happy. We're trying to find joy in life," Kelsey concluded.
