Hollywood executives are wrestling with doubts about Aaron Taylor-Johnson's suitability for the iconic James Bond role after the disappointing box office results of his latest film, 'Kraven the Hunter'.

AceShowbiz - Aaron Taylor-Johnson has long been a name floated to inherit the legendary mantle of James Bond after Daniel Craig bid farewell to the franchise in 2021's "No Time to Die". However, the lukewarm reception of his latest project, "Kraven the Hunter", has cast doubts over his 007 casting.
Revolving around Spider-Man villain, the ambitious Marvel anti-hero spin-off has internationally grossed a disappointing £49 million ($60 million) against its £87 million production cost since its December 13 release.
Hollywood insiders are reportedly "nervous" about whether Taylor-Johnson, 34, possesses the mainstream appeal necessary for such a high-profile role as Bond.
"It is not that he was bad in the film or had no screen presence, but the script just didn't appeal to fans," a producer commented. The producer added, "People will ask whether Aaron has that mainstream appeal or if this was just a blip.â€
Taylor-Johnson has reportedly participated in a screen test at Pinewood Studios with Bond franchise steward Barbara Broccoli, but the producer insisted in numerous occasions that the search for the next 007 was far from over.
Other contenders like "The Crown" star Josh O'Connor, Callum Turner, James Norton, and Paul Mescal are also under consideration, intensifying the competition for the coveted role.
