AceShowbiz - Nikki Garcia is embracing a new mindset as she enters 2025, shedding the burden of trying to change others. In a candid solo session on the December 30 episode of "The Nikki & Brie Show" podcast, Garcia reflected on her experiences in 2024, which included researching the concept of the "divine feminine."
This journey taught her a vital lesson. "We aren't here to fix other people, we just aren't," Garcia articulated. "We're here to lead by example."
The 41-year-old reality TV star and retired WME star emphasized that her role is to support and nurture those around her, especially her son. "You can be there for support, but you aren't there to fix, especially in relationships that you have," she added.
These insights come after her recent divorce from Artem Chigvintsev following his arrest for suspected domestic violence in August. Garcia filed for divorce shortly afterwards although the District Attorney declined to file criminal charges.
"If you're in that kind of relationship that you are fixing, you need to find your way out," she advised listeners, hinting at her own experiences. She warned that trying to fix someone would not lead to love or happiness but would instead drain one's energy, leading to sadness. Garcia has now adopted a new approach for 2025, "I will lead. I will help. I will support. I will love, but I will not fix."
The couple, who share a 4-year-old son, Matteo, finalized their divorce last month through private mediation. In a statement, they agreed "to drop the domestic violence restraining orders against each other in an effort to move on with their lives and effectively co-parent their son."
The settlement details remain private, but Garcia's representative emphasized her dedication to Matteo, "Nikki's number one priority has always been her son and privacy on the matter. She is thankful for all of the love and support she has received during this difficult time."
Garcia's personal evolution illustrates a broader lesson relevant to many young people navigating relationships and personal growth. Her story underscores the importance of setting boundaries and prioritizing one's well-being over the exhausting endeavor of trying to change others.
As she steps into 2025, Garcia's resolve to lead by example rather than fix serves as a powerful reminder of self-empowerment and the transformative power of focusing on one's own journey.
