AceShowbiz - Dane Cook lamented his hosting experience on "Saturday Night Live" in 2005 and 2006. He admitted to being "horrible" in some sketches but noted that he received positive feedback from the audience in others, such as one where he played a man struggling with a turtleneck sweater.
The comedian's experience hosting "Saturday Night Live" was bittersweet. He was grateful for the opportunity but lamented that he missed his chance to join the cast earlier in his career. Despite his regrets, he acknowledged that he "got a second chance" to be a part of the show and shared his admiration for Don Pardo, the late "SNL" announcer who introduced him during his hosting gigs.
Despite his mixed experiences, Cook still holds a deep affection for "Saturday Night Live", which he has been a fan of since his childhood. He expressed gratitude for the show's impact on his career and reflected on the profound experience of being invited to host.
Recently, Cook expressed his disappointment over failing to attend his audition for "Saturday Night Live" nearly three decades ago, acknowledging that he "definitely felt like I let myself down."
Recalling the incident, Cook said that he experienced a panic attack outside Rockefeller Plaza on the day of his audition. "I sat on a bench and didn't go in," he revealed. Despite encouragement from his manager, he decided against it due to his fear of confrontation.
