AceShowbiz - Michael Fassbender and Cate Blanchett star as George Woodhouse and Kathryn, respectively, in Steven Soderbergh's latest spy thriller "Black Bag". When Kathryn is suspected of a massive intelligence breach, George must choose between his devotion to his marriage and his duty to his country.
Amidst the thrilling espionage and action, "Black Bag" delves into the intimate nature of the couple's relationship, questioning whether trust and truth can truly exist in a marriage where secrecy and deception are prevalent. The trailer poses the question, "When you can lie about everything, when you can deny everything, how do you tell the truth about anything?"
The film marks a reunion for Soderbergh and Blanchett, who have previously collaborated on "The Good German" and "Ocean's 8". Fassbender, who starred in Soderbergh's "Haywire", is joined by an ensemble cast including Rege-Jean Page, Naomie Harris, Tom Burke and Pierce Brosnan.
Written by David Koepp, who previously penned "Jurassic Park" and "Mission: Impossible", "Black Bag" is a gripping exploration of the consequences when work and pleasure collide. It examines the delicate balance of love, loyalty and the sacrifices made in the name of duty. The film is set for release in theaters on March 14, 2025.
