AceShowbiz - Canadian rapper Drake generously donated $10,000 to the winner of a lookalike contest organized by Casuals Cakery in his hometown of Toronto. On Saturday, December 14, fans flocked to Apt 200 in Toronto to participate in a lookalike contest honoring Drake. The bakery, Casuals Cakery, had shared news of the competition and received a direct message from the rapper himself, stating that he would contribute "10 bands" towards the grand prize.
Makayla Chambers emerged victorious, embodying "Girl Drake" with pigtails, a fake goatee, and an oversized beige sweater, resembling a look that Drake had sported earlier in the year. She walked away with the main prize, which had originally been set to include a "Toronto Manz" package containing Hennessy cognac and Backwoods cigars.
Drake's generous gesture is the latest in a series of viral lookalike contests. In October, a Timothée Chalamet lookalike contest in New York City garnered significant attention, culminating in a surprise appearance by the actor himself.
The rapper, who now boasts over 216 million social media followers, shared several videos from the event on his Instagram Story, expressing his affection for his hometown.
Drake is set to kick off his The Anita Max Win Tour on February 9 in Melbourne, Australia, and oversee production on the third season of the HBO drama "Euphoria."
