AceShowbiz - Jon Cryer, known for his role on "Two and a Half Men", has a unique holiday tradition that has become a labor of love for him. Every year, he embarks on the ambitious project of building an elaborate Christmas village.
"I build a stupid Christmas village," Cryer, 59, told PEOPLE at the Children's Hospital Los Angeles 2024 Gala. "Although this year, I'm hanging back a little bit, because usually, I have themes."
In previous years, Cryer has taken his village construction to new heights, creating miniature versions of cities like Los Angeles, Paris and London. "This year, I'm just going to do Americana. I'm gonna go old school," he said.
Cryer's wife Lisa Joyner, who has witnessed the evolution of his holiday display, described it as "intense." "It goes onto the floors, into the living room," she said.
The actor's village isn't just assembled with store-bought pieces. Cryer takes pride in his custom creations. "I use the little figurines, like 50 of them, the little houses and everything. It's all landscaped elaborately and lit up," he explained.
"There are little carnival rides and ski slopes. I have a ski lift that goes up and down," Cryer added. "He makes waterfalls," Joyner noted.
Cryer's dedication extends beyond the store-bought items. He has utilized a 3D printer to create unique buildings, such as the Cinerama dome and the "Die Hard" building, Nakatomi Plaza.
While Cryer and Joyner don't have young children who might disrupt the village, they do keep a watchful eye on their rescue dogs. "They've been very respectful," Cryer said. "They mess it up, it's over," Joyner added.
