AceShowbiz - On Wednesday, December 11, Beyonce Knowles' BeyGood Foundation donated $100,000 to the University of Houston Law Center's Criminal Justice Clinic. The donation will fund a full-time faculty and director to assist underserved communities near the university.
The University of Houston Law Center's Criminal Justice Clinic received a generous $100,000 donation from Beyonce's BeyGood Foundation, announced recently in a press release. Dean Leonard Baynes of UH Law Center highlighted the vision for providing strong and effective legal representation to underserved communities with this gift. "At UH Law, we envision a legal profession where 'everyone has the opportunity to prosper,' as BeyGood envisions," Baynes stated. This significant contribution aims to fund full-time faculty and a director for the clinic.
This act of philanthropy, however, arrives at a contentious time for the Carter family. Just days after Beyonce's charitable gesture, Jay-Z was named in a troubling lawsuit accusing him of raping a 13-year-old girl alongside Sean "P. Diddy" Combs at an MTV Video Music Awards after-party in 2000. Both men have vehemently denied the allegations.
The amended lawsuit, filed recently by an Alabama woman identified as Jane Doe, marks another chapter in the mounting legal woes for Diddy. Already facing federal charges including sex trafficking and racketeering, Diddy remains in custody ahead of his upcoming trial.
Jay-Z, addressing the public in an emotional open letter, denied the accusations and expressed the turmoil these claims have caused within his family. He emphasized the difficulty of having to explain such allegations to his children, particularly his 12-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy. "My wife and I will have to sit our children down... and explain the cruelty and greed of people," Jay-Z lamented.
