AceShowbiz - Rapper Lil Scrappy, born Darryl Kevin Richardson, is celebrating a new addition to his family. Alongside hairstylist and former "Pick a Side" contestant Shakira Hardy, Scrappy welcomed a baby boy on November 23.
Hardy took to Instagram to share her joy, writing, "For the last 7days I've been completely distracted by this lil man 💙🥹 Saturday 11/23/24 @ 7:39am I gave birth to a baby boy 7lbs 2.5oz." She added details of her birthing experience, thanking Scrappy and her daughter for their support during the long labor.
Though Scrappy has yet to publicly address the birth, the couple has been open about their journey to parenthood. Just weeks prior, they celebrated a blue-themed baby shower in New York, where Hardy expressed her gratitude for Scrappy traveling from Atlanta. "You came all the way from Atlanta…I appreciate that," she said in a heartfelt speech during the event.
This new chapter in Scrappy's life is set against a backdrop of a complex family structure. The rapper is already a father to four children from previous relationships. His eldest, Emani Richardson, 19, is from his relationship with Erica Dixon while he shares three younger children - son Breland, 6, and daughters Xylo, 4, and Cali, 3 - with ex-wife Adiz "Bambi" Benson.
Bambi, meanwhile, has been busy with her own projects. Following the news of Hardy's pregnancy, she announced the release of her children's book, "A New Baby for Us", designed to help families navigate the arrival of a new sibling. "I truly pray this story will help some of you explain new family changes in a gentle way to your children," she wrote on Instagram.
Despite these professional strides, personal relationships appear strained. In a candid Instagram Live session, Scrappy made it clear that any co-parenting harmony with Bambi was, at best, precarious. "I just do not like her," he disclosed. "Hate is a strong word, strong word. I just don't even have the energy for that sh*t anymore."
Yet, as Hardy embarks on her journey as a #boymom, the support from fans has been unwavering. They continue to flood her social media with messages of love and encouragement, marking this moment as a celebration of new life and the ongoing saga of familial dynamics.
