AceShowbiz - Prepare for a gripping tale of warring families and ferocious loyalty as award-winning actors Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan, and Helen Mirren come together for an untitled crime series directed by Guy Ritchie. Scheduled for a global debut in 2025 on Paramount+ with Showtime, this show promises to deliver everything fans of the crime genre expect—and much more.
This global crime series, produced by Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios, unfolds the saga of two rival families based in London with enterprises that transcend international boundaries.
Tom Hardy stars as Harry Da Souza, a professional conciliator fiercely loyal to the Harrigan family. Pierce Brosnan takes on the role of Conrad Harrigan, the formidable head of this successful Irish crime family. The legendary Helen Mirren will play Maeve Harrigan, the matriarch who holds the family together.
Initially conceived as "The Donovans," an across-the-pond spin-off of Showtime's hit series "Ray Donovan," the project evolved into a standalone series. The show was previously filming under the working title "The Associate," but production is now underway in London without an official title.
"Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren are masters at their craft and we are honored to have them lead the cast for Guy Richie's new global, original series," stated Chris McCarthy, Paramount Global co-CEO and president/CEO of Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios.
Reuniting Ritchie and Hardy, who previously worked together on the 2008 film "RocknRolla," this new series continues Ritchie's foray into television after his successful Netflix show "The Gentlemen." The project leverages Ritchie's hallmark storytelling elements, focusing on London-based crime dramas, echoing the themes he explored in films like "Snatch" and "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels."
Besides Ritchie, the series' executive production team includes notable figures such as Jez Butterworth and Ronan Bennett. Bennett, known for his work on the British crime series "Top Boy," brings extensive experience as a writer and producer.
"Guy, Jez Butterworth and Ronan Bennett's creative prowess, coupled with these gifted actors, is the perfect recipe for what we believe will be the next brand-defining series for Showtime on Paramount+," McCarthy added.
Jeff Grossman, Executive Vice President of programming for Paramount+, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the high-caliber acting and production values that audiences can anticipate from this collaboration. The series promises to combine top-tier talent with compelling, high-impact storylines, setting the stage for a must-watch crime drama experience.
As the powerhouse trio of Hardy, Brosnan, and Mirren prepare to bring this narrative to life, one thing is clear: this untitled series has all the ingredients to become a standout addition to the crime drama genre, capturing the imaginations of young and old audiences alike.
