AceShowbiz - Featuring legendary Broadway icons and screen stars, The Network's new limited series "The Artist" promises a compelling murder mystery set in the twilight of the Gilded Age. The series, created, executive produced, written, and directed by Aram Rappaport, will see heavyweights like Zachary Quinto, Patti LuPone, Hank Azaria, and Clark Gregg share the screen.
They join previously announced talent such as Mandy Patinkin, Janet McTeer, and Danny Huston in what is being hailed as an unofficial "Evita" reunion for LuPone and Patinkin.
Bringing to life an intricate narrative, "The Artist" follows an ensemble of notable 19th-century celebrities, including the likes of Thomas Edison and Edgar Degas. These figures converge at the opulent yet decaying home of Norman Henry, an eccentric tycoon played by multi-talented Mandy Patinkin, and his wife, Marian, portrayed by Janet McTeer. The evening takes a dark turn with the untimely demise of Norman Henry.
Set for a March 2025 premiere, production is currently underway in Connecticut. The series is set to be a seven-episode limited run, produced in collaboration with industry veteran Hilary Shor ("Children of Men", "The Paperboy").
Zachary Quinto, known for his roles in "Star Trek" and "American Horror Story," plays Delphin Delmas, a high-powered lawyer from San Francisco. Patti LuPone, best known for her work in musical theater, takes on the role of Marian Henry's fiery sister, Rosie Morsch, who harbors a deep disdain for Patinkin's Norman Henry.
Adding even more star power, Hank Azaria will portray the esteemed inventor Thomas Edison, while Clark Gregg steps into the shoes of Harry Kendall Thaw, the spoiled heir of a coal and railroad baron.
"The Artist" represents a significant milestone for The Network, which launched in May 2024 as the first free premium streaming platform in the United States, accessible across all major devices and platforms. This ambitious and richly detailed series is set to captivate audiences with its historical intrigue and exceptional performances.
With this illustrious cast and a plot full of twists and turns, "The Artist" is shaping up to be a must-watch series. Make sure to mark your calendars for its premiere in March 2025, exclusively on The Network.
