AceShowbiz - "Gladiator II" star Paul Mescal will be the next host of "Saturday Night Live" on December 7, as revealed in an interstitial during the November 16 episode featuring Charli XCX as both host and musical guest.
Shaboozey, known for his hit single "A Bar Song (Tipsy)," will make his "SNL" debut as the episode's musical guest.
Mescal's appearance on "SNL" comes just two weeks after the theatrical release of "Gladiator II," in which he stars as Hanno, the former heir to the Roman empire forced to become a gladiator. The film also features Pedro Pascal, Connie Nielsen, Fred Hechinger, Joseph Quinn, and Denzel Washington.
This marks the third debut hosting stint for "SNL" during its 50th season, following Jean Smart and Charli XCX. The December 7 episode will air after a three-week hiatus for Thanksgiving.
Season 50 of "SNL" kicked off with various hosts and musical guests, including Nate Bargatze and Coldplay, Ariana Grande and Stevie Nicks, Michael Keaton and Billie Eilish, John Mulaney and Chappell Roan, and Bill Burr and Mk.gee.
"Saturday Night Live" airs on NBC at 11:30 p.m. ET and streams on Peacock. It is produced in association with Broadway Video and Lorne Michaels serves as creator and executive producer.
