Victoria Kjær Theilvig has made history by becoming the first contestant from her country Denmark to win the prestigious Miss Universe title at the ceremony in Mexico.

AceShowbiz - On a mesmerizing night in the Mexico City Arena, which seats up to 20,000 passionate supporters, Victoria Kjær Theilvig of Denmark emerged victorious in the 73rd edition of the Miss Universe competition. She becomes the first contestant from her country to win at the pageant contest.
The Danish beauty, who is also a staunch animal protection advocate and works in the diamond selling business, surpassed Miss Nigeria Chidimma Adetshina in the final showdown to claim the coveted crown. Miss Mexico Mariana Fernanda Beltran secured the third spot in this year's competition.
Miss Thailand Suchata Chuangsri and Miss Venezuela Ileana Marquez rounded out the top 5 candidates. They were given the same question, "This universe has inspired generations of women. What is your message to the ones watching you right now?"
Miss Denmark's winning answer: "No matter where you come from, no matter your past, you can always choose to turn it into your strengths. It will never define who you are. You just gotta keep fighting. I stand here today because I want to change, I want to make history, and that's what I'm doing tonight. So, never give up always, believe in yourself, in your dreams, and that is exactly what you're going to do."
Mexicans have a unique connection to Miss Universe, as this is the third time the country has played host to the event. The vibrant energy of Mexico City, known for its rich history and lively atmosphere, provided the perfect backdrop for this momentous occasion. This year's event saw several countries represented for the first time, including Belarus, Eritrea, Guinea, Macau, Maldives, Moldova, and Uzbekistan.
