AceShowbiz - A filmmaker named Rob Grabow has filed a 25-page lawsuit against LeBron James, his production company, and Netflix, accusing them of stealing his script for a basketball film called "The Gift of the Game."

Grabow alleges that he wrote "The Gift of the Game," which follows a Native American high school basketball player striving to lead his team to a state title. He claims to have shared the script with individuals close to Netflix, James, and his production company.

Grabow contends that James's production company used his ideas for their film "Rez Ball," which was released in September 2023. He cites similarities between the plot, theme, characters, and ending of both films, including the protagonist being fouled during the championship game. He also argues that "Rez Ball" is more similar to his screenplay than to the book it was supposedly based on.

Grabow is suing for alleged copyright infringement, breach of contract, and seeking unspecified damages.

James has faced another recent lawsuit unrelated to the film script case. In October, he and his son Bronny were sued for their alleged involvement in a 2022 car accident that resulted in injuries and vehicle damage. The plaintiffs in that case are also seeking unspecified damages.
