AceShowbiz - Al B. Sure! has been dragged online after seemingly trying to reconnect with his estranged son Quincy Brown, who has been raised by Sean "P. Diddy" Combs. The R&B artist, who shares the 33-year-old actor/singer with his late ex Kim Porter, has seemingly called for his son's freedom amid the rapper's incarceration.
The "Off on Your Own (Girl)" crooner shared a cryptic message about a father's love for his son via his Instagram Story on Monday, November 11. "Nothing breaks a dad more than seeing his love for his kids turned into a weapon against him," the quote read, as he added, "#[Free]Quincy."
Instead of gaining people's sympathy, Al B. Sure! has faced backlash for only stepping up now after being absent from Quincy's life for more than three decades. "Quincy is 33 years old and had to be raise by Diddy because of al b sure lack of presence .. diddy have 99 problem and being a great father isn't one!" someone reacted to his post.
Another wondered, "why it seem like he waited til diddy got locked up to try to step up." A third remarked, "Sir u had all his life to be a dad." Blasting the 56-year-old singer, another claimed, "Nothing more delusional thn a deadbeat dad."
Another shut down Al B. Sure's apparent hope of reconciliation with Quincy. "If he's trying to build a relationship with his son, this isn't it," the said user weighed in. Someone else accused him of seeking attention, "Where was all this energy when Kim was alive & Diddy was free ? ATP he's looking for attention & sympathy."
Diddy has become an informal stepfather to Quincy since he entered into a relationship with Quincy's mother Kim in 1994. Amid the music mogul's arrest and sex crime charges, Quincy remains loyal to Diddy, often joining forces with Diddy's biological children to show their support for the incarcerated rapper.
Meanwhile, Al B. Sure! has several times insinuated that Diddy was behind Kim's sudden death in 2018, although autopsy results confirmed that she died of lobar pneumonia.
