AceShowbiz - Kansas City Chiefs quarterback and tight end duo, Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, have become victim to burglaries at their suburban mansions last month.
According to TMZ Sports and Page Six, Mahomes' residence in Belton, Missouri, was broken into on October 6 at midnight while Kelce's home in Leawood, Kansas, was robbed around 7:33 P.M. on October 7.
The robberies coincided with the Chiefs' "Monday Night Football" game against the New Orleans Saints, leading authorities to suspect possible connections to a crime spree in the area.
Police have not disclosed what was stolen from Mahomes' home. However, TMZ reported that Kelce lost $20,000 in cash and sustained damage to his back door. As a precaution, Kelce and his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, opted to stay at a hotel that night.
The Cass County Sheriff's Office has not released any additional details, as the investigation is ongoing. Sources close to the situation believe the burglaries are linked to similar crimes in the vicinity.
Chiefs players are typically required to stay at their team hotel the night before home games. Thus, it is possible that Mahomes and Kelce were not home during the break-ins.
Patrick Mahomes and his wife purchased their eight-acre Belton property in 2020 for $400,000 and upgraded it to include a basketball court, par-3 golf hole, and 5-yard football field.
Travis Kelce acquired his $6 million Leawood mansion last year, seeking privacy and enhanced security within a gated community for himself and Taylor Swift.
The events have undoubtedly been unsettling for the legendary athlete and his loved ones. The community extends its support to Mahomes and Kelce and hopes for justice to be served swiftly.
