AceShowbiz - Kyle Richards, a seasoned divorcee, has extended her support to Teddi Mellencamp following her split from Edwin Arroyave. "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" stars, who are at different stages in their respective divorces, share a common experience of enduring this difficult time in the public eye.
Richards expressed her sadness over Mellencamp's situation, acknowledging the love they once shared. However, she emphasized the importance of focusing on their children and tuning out outside noise. "It's difficult no matter what, but she is a strong girl," Richards said of her friend.
Mellencamp filed for divorce on November 1, citing "irreconcilable differences" after 13 years of marriage. The couple share three children: Slate, 12; Cruz, 10; and Dove, 4. Arroyave has contested and requested joint custody.
Richards, who divorced Mauricio Umansky in July 2023 after 27 years of marriage, shared her insights on the impact of divorce on children. "It doesn't matter if the kids are little or they're grown," she said. "My girls struggled a lot with our separation even though they're grown."
Richards echoed the sentiment of supporting Mellencamp through the process. "She can lean on me and show up at my door anytime she wants, no matter what time of night it is," she said. Mellencamp has also been open about her struggles and the importance of prioritizing her children's well-being.
