The comedian and the singer, co-stars in the upcoming 'Wicked' movie, share the details of their unexpected kiss on 'Saturday Night Live' and how they came up with the idea on the spot.

AceShowbiz - "Saturday Night Live" star Bowen Yang has apologized to his co-star Ariana Grande for kissing her too passionately during a sketch they performed when she hosted "Saturday Night Live" in October. During an episode of his "Las Culturistas" podcast, Yang confessed, "I really have to apologize to you in person. I opened up my mouth too much when we kissed on 'SNL'."

Grande replied, "You absolutely did. I was shaking after. Not in a bad way. Just in a disarming way."

The kiss occurred during a sketch titled "Charades with Mom", in which Grande played a competitive mother who clashed with Yang's character, her son's boyfriend. The kiss was not initially scripted, according to both stars. Grande revealed that she had the idea during rehearsal, but hesitated to suggest it because she feared being seen as "insane."

However, Yang had the same thought, and they later agreed on the kiss during dress rehearsal. Grande joked that Yang had "opened his mouth entirely too open," but ultimately defended the moment as appropriate for the characters.

Yang and Grande praised each other for their improvisation skills and the electric atmosphere during the sketch. "It felt like what these people needed at that time," Grande said. "It felt like what these characters required." Yang added, "I kissed you too much, but I'm glad we did it."

The apology and insights into the kiss provide a glimpse into the creative process and onstage spontaneity that make "Saturday Night Live" a beloved comedy institution.
