AceShowbiz - Kim Kardashian's controversial fashion choice at the 2024 LACMA Art + Film Gala landed her in hot water. "The Kardashians" star faced backlash after she wore Princess Diana's iconic cross necklace for the occasion.

At the ceremony, Kim paired the Attallah Cross necklace, which Kim purchased at a Sotheby's auction in 2023 for nearly $200,000, with a white Gucci gown featuring a dramatically plunging neckline. Internet users apparently were not a fan of the combination.

Upon catching wind of the SKIMS founder's look at the gala, people quickly put her on blast for wearing the historical jewelry with a daring ensemble. One wrote on X, formerly Twitter, "She turned it into something vulgar."

"She had the audacity to put it on with this dress. Purely tone deaf, uneducated narcissistic unattractive brain," another critic said. One other added, "If you're going to wear such a sacred religious symbol at least wear it with some class as Diana did. Show some respect…."

Someone else noted, "Perfect example of class vs trash." A user, on the other hand, wrote, "Wearing a cross while exposing your breasts is an odd choice, Kim." Another naysayer said, "Kim is so desperate to be remembered like that of other famous women ~ Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor, Princess Diana, etc., and she thinks she can buy her way to the top."

Kim is no stranger to receiving backlash after wearing a timeless piece. The former wife of Kanye West borrowed Marilyn Monroe's 'Happy Birthday Mr. President' dress to the Met Gala in 2022.

She was later accused of ruining the nude gown. The Marilyn Monroe Collection claimed that the dress had "missing crystals" while some were left "hanging by a thread." However, the allegations were shut down as photos from Ripley's Believe It or Not's Hollywood in May showed that the dress had been damaged even before Kim wore it.
