AceShowbiz - Kim Kardashian was a radiant presence at the 2024 LACMA Art + Film Gala in Los Angeles. The reality star and entrepreneur turned heads in a revealing white gown, which she complemented with an antique amethyst cross pendant once worn by Princess Diana.
Known as the Attallah Cross, the stunning piece was purchased by Kardashian at a Sotheby's auction last year for $197,453, double its pre-auction estimate. Named for its previous owner, Naim Attallah, the Palestinian-British businessman, the cross was a favorite of Diana throughout the 1980s.
The Attallah Cross, originally created by Garrard in the 1920s, features square-cut amethysts surrounded by 5.25 carats of circular-cut diamonds. Diana famously wore the pendant on a string of pearls at a 1987 charity gala, pairing it with a purple velvet Catherine Walker gown.
In addition to the Attallah Cross, Kardashian also donned a chunky pearl choker that resembled another iconic jewelry piece worn by Diana. The eleven-strand necklace, adorned with rubies and diamonds, was a staple in the late Princess of Wales' wardrobe.
Kardashian's ensemble was completed with an ivory coat worn off-the-shoulder, sleek black bob, and a makeup look that included winged eyeliner, brown eyeshadow, and a nude lip.
The LACMA Art + Film Gala, sponsored by Gucci, supports the museum's programming and acquisitions in the intersection of art and film. This year's event honored director Baz Luhrmann and sculptor Simone Leigh while Leonardo DiCaprio and Eva Chow served as co-chairs for the 13th consecutive year.
