AceShowbiz - Joy Behar, the co-host of "The View", has not been reprimanded for revealing on air that co-host Sara Haines had a lesbian relationship in college. A source told Page Six, "Sara freely shared the story with the studio audience last week, although it was off camera." The insider added, "She did not have a private conversation about it with her co-hosts."
The revelation came after "[t=The View" co-host Whoopi Goldberg introduced Haines' parents to the live audience. Behar then asked Haines, "Are you going to bring up that lesbian relationship you said you had or not? Back at Smith [College]!"
Haines laughed and joked that it was a "good thing" her father doesn't "always watch" the show. Behar's remark was criticized by some viewers, who felt it was inappropriate to reveal such personal information without Haines' consent.
However, an insider told Page Six that Haines had actually shared the story with the studio audience prior to the taping. The source said, "She did not have a private conversation about it with her co-hosts."
Daily Mail had previously reported that Behar had been criticized by her co-hosts for "embarrassing" Haines and that she had been told by her employers that her remarks were "not OK." However, the source told Page Six that this was not the case.
