The Lego Group is expanding its cinematic universe with three live-action movies directed by famed filmmakers such as Patty Jenkins, Jake Kasdan, and Joe Cornish.

AceShowbiz - Live-action Lego movies are in development under this collaboration between The Lego Group and Universal Pictures. It remain untitled, with plot details kept under wraps, but the esteemed filmmakers attached to each project have been revealed.
Jake Kasdan, known for his work on the "Jumanji" franchise and "Bad Teacher," will direct a movie based on a script written by Andrew Mogel and Jarrad Paul. The project is based on an original idea and previous draft by Matt Mider and Kevin Burrows. Kasdan will produce the film alongside Melvin Mar through their Detective Agency banner.
Patty Jenkins, the director behind the "Wonder Woman" franchise, will direct a movie from a script she co-wrote with Geoff Johns. The duo previously collaborated on "Wonder Woman 1984." Jenkins will produce the movie through her Wicious Pictures company.
Joe Cornish, known for "Attack the Block" and "The Kid Who Would Be King," will rewrite and direct the third movie. Heather Anne Campbell penned a previous draft of the script based on a treatment by Simon Rich.
All three movies will be produced by Jill Wilfert and Ryan Christians from The Lego Group. Universal's Matt Reilly and Jacqueline Garell will oversee the projects for the studio.
This collaboration marks an extension of the long-standing partnership between Universal and The Lego Group, which began over a decade ago with the Lego Jurassic World product line and video games. The Lego brand has since expanded into a successful feature film franchise, with titles such as "The Lego Movie," "The Lego Batman Movie," and "The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part" grossing over $1 billion worldwide.
The Lego Group is represented by WME, the same agency representing Kasdan, Johns, Mider, and Burrows. CAA represents Jenkins, Cornish, and Campbell. Focus Features, Universal's specialty studio, recently collaborated with The Lego Group on "Piece by Piece," a biographical film about Pharrell Williams told entirely through Lego animation. The film has been a critical success and earned two Critics' Choice Documentary Award nominations.
