AceShowbiz - Ted Danson and Kelsey Grammer have revealed a past disagreement on the set of "Cheers". On the "Where Everybody Knows Your Name with Ted Danson and Woody Harrelson (Sometimes)" podcast, Danson admitted to getting angry at Grammer during their time on the iconic sitcom.
Grammer confirmed the incident, stating that it had remained a memory for both of them. Danson expressed regret for the rift, saying he felt he had missed out on their friendship over the past 30 years.
"I almost feel like apologizing to you," Danson said. "I feel like it's my bad, my doing." Grammer responded that he shared the sentiment, apologizing for not being more proactive in maintaining their bond.
However, he recalled a memorable conversation they had where Danson told him, "Now that you're 40, it means you're finally worth having a conversation with." Grammer praised Danson's words, saying he had always quoted them to others.
Both actors acknowledged the importance of their connection on and off the set of "Cheers". Grammer explained that while they went their separate ways after work, their bond remained strong.
"We can go off in different directions, you can have different lives, but that bond, that love of making something really funny and really good and cracking each other up," Danson said.
The podcast episode also included a discussion about their reunion at the 75th annual Emmy Awards in January, where they joined former "Cheers" cast members Rhea Perlman, John Ratzenberger and George Wendt. Grammer said the reunion evoked memories from the show they were all proud of.
Despite the past disagreement, Danson and Grammer emphasized their enduring friendship and respect for each other's talent. Their reconciliation serves as a reminder that even in close relationships, there may be moments of conflict, but true bonds can withstand such challenges.
