AceShowbiz - Singer-songwriter Shawn Mendes has delayed the release of his fifth studio album, "Shawn", from its original date of October 18 to November 15. In a statement shared on social media, Mendes explained that he and his team need more time to incorporate new inspirations and ideas into the album.
"My team and I have decided to push the album release date to November 15th," Mendes wrote. "We just need a little bit more time to bring some new inspiration and ideas to life."
The album, which marks Mendes' first release since 2020's "Wonder", was recorded over the past two years. It features collaborations with Scott Harris, Mike Sabath, Nate Mercereau and Eddie Benjamin. Mendes has already released several singles from the album, including "Nobody Knows", "Why Why Why" and "Isn't That Enough".
In addition to the album delay, Mendes has announced the upcoming release of a concert film titled "For Friends and Family Only". The film, which will be released on November 14, a day before the album, captures Mendes' first performance of his new album at the Bearsville Theater in Woodstock, New York.
"This was my first time performing the album and my first show back in 2 years," Mendes wrote. "It was really beautiful. I really wanted you all to be able to experience it." Tickets for "For Friends and Family Only" go on sale on October 24.
