AceShowbiz - Sabrina Carpenter has clarified that Barry Keoghan's talent, not their relationship, landed him a role in her "Please Please Please" music video. Speaking to Tracy Smith on "CBS Sunday Morning", she revealed that her decision was based solely on his exceptional acting abilities.

"I genuinely, like, a not even biased opinion, was like, 'Who's the greatest actor that I can find for this music video?' " Carpenter explained. "And he was next to me, in a chair, and he was so excited about it."

Carpenter also revealed that Keoghan, who is nominated for an Oscar, was already a fan of the song. "He liked the song, which is great," she said. "He's a fan of the song. He does like my music a lot."

Previously, Carpenter had praised Keoghan's performance in the video, calling it "one of the best experiences I've ever had." She added, "I'm very honored and I got to work with such a great actor."

Despite her desire to keep their relationship private, Carpenter recognizes that her fame comes with a certain level of public interest. "It's not what I signed up for, but I can't really help when I was born," she told The Guardian. "I want to be honest - I want to just write about what's happening in my life as a 25-year-old girl."
