AceShowbiz - Sabrina Carpenter, the rising pop star who opened for Taylor Swift on her "Eras Tour", has shared her admiration for Swift's artistry and the support she has received from her. In an interview with "CBS This Morning", Carpenter described Swift as "composed, graceful and gracious."
Carpenter, who has been a longtime fan of Swift, said that Swift's tacit support has boosted her confidence. "She knows who I am as a person and is very supportive of that," Carpenter explained.
Carpenter's sixth studio album "Short n' Sweet" was released on August 23. One of its tracks, "Slim Pickins", features lyrics that echo lines from Swift's song "But Daddy I Love Him". While the similarity may be coincidental, it highlights Carpenter's connection to Swift.
Carpenter and Swift have been close friends for years. Carpenter has posted covers of Swift's songs on YouTube since she was a child. She has also received encouragement from Swift on her career choices, including an ad campaign with Skims, which was rumored to have been contingent on Swift's approval.
Carpenter has expressed gratitude for the opportunities she has had to perform with Swift on the "Eras Tour". After lightning strikes forced her to cancel her set in Sydney, Swift invited her to join her on stage for an acoustic performance of "White Horse" and "Coney Island".
Swift has also publicly endorsed "Short n' Sweet". "Go support our girl!!" she wrote on her Instagram Story, sharing a link to the album.
Carpenter's album draws inspiration from relationships, with its title reflecting the brevity and impact of some of her past experiences. She emphasized, however, that her height was not the reason behind the title.
