50 Cent, who has been busy working on his Diddy docuseries, opens up about the state of rap music today, his reasons for shifting his focus to film and his plans to collaborate with Dr. Dre.

AceShowbiz - 50 Cent recently revealed his thoughts on why he has distanced himself from rapping. During an interview with Earn Your Leisure, he explained that he finds contemporary rap music to be "dumbed down."

"If you listen to the music that's out right now, I have to tap into my stupid," he said. "I have to tap into the stupid side of me to write the right thing when it comes time to write the music."

This shift in the rap landscape has prompted 50 Cent to focus his efforts on film production and development. "I started going towards the film production and development of these projects because I can impact things in a bigger way through that," he said, citing Tyler Perry as an example.

Despite his hiatus from rap, 50 Cent has hinted at a possible return. In 2023, he confirmed that he was working on new music with Dr. Dre. According to Big Boy, Eminem had already reached out to Dre on 50 Cent's behalf, promising that Dre had "some crazy stuff" for him to hear.

50 Cent emphasized his creative process: "I'll go make something, what I can find, the best music that I can put my hands on. And when I feel real good about it, I bring it to put pressure on Dre to offer me something."
