AceShowbiz - Jennie Garth, the former "Beverly Hills, 90210" star, has shared the heartbreaking experience of suffering multiple miscarriages with her husband Dave Abrams following their marriage in 2015. In an episode of her iHeartPodcast, "I Choose Me with Jennie Garth", the 52-year-old actress opened up about the difficult time they went through.
Garth, who has three daughters with her ex-husband Peter Facinelli (50), spoke candidly about the emotional toll the miscarriages took on her. During the conversation with Abrams, she admitted to feeling "ashamed" after not being able to carry his child.
"I think at that time, I was feeling really down on myself, really ashamed, feeling like I was disappointing you, like I wasn't able to carry a pregnancy with you, who I loved," Garth recalled.
The couple shared that they had gotten pregnant naturally within the first month of their marriage. However, after four months, they found out there was no heartbeat. Garth underwent a dilation and curettage (DNC) procedure to clear her uterus.
"I remember them saying we could just wait and let it work its way, or we could do the procedure. And we opted to do the procedure because it was just too much for me to carry a baby that had been terminated," she explained.
Unfortunately, they went through a similar experience again soon after. The second pregnancy only lasted for a month and a half, and they opted for a DNC once more. "By that time, I think it had definitely taken an emotional toll which we didn't know how to communicate at the time," Abrams said.
