In the midst of her 2013 divorce from William Stewart, Haddish was approached by a stranger who asked her to pay a six-figure tab for their wedding. "Their wedding was going to be 10 times the price of mine," Haddish recalled, revealing that her own nuptials had cost only $10,000.

"I said, 'If y'all can't afford the wedding, you shouldn't get married already,' " Haddish quipped. She didn't know the person who made the request or understand why they thought she would be willing to spend such a large sum.

"I just finished my divorce, and you going to ask me this?" she said jokingly. Haddish emphasized that she had recently finished a movie that earned her $80,000, but after taxes and expenses, she barely had enough to cover her mortgage.

Haddish has also been asked to officiate a wedding ceremony for a couple she had never met. "I don't know either one of them from nobody," she explained. "I would do it if I knew them, sure. But it was a little strange to me."

At the recent iHeartRadio Music Festival, Haddish also discussed her new single, "Woman Up." She explained that the song represents the internal conflict she faces daily, encouraging herself and others to persevere despite the challenges they may encounter.
