AceShowbiz - Streaming giant Apple TV+ is eager to produce a documentary about the highly anticipated reunion of British rock band Oasis, according to UK tabloid The Sun. The documentary would chronicle the reconciliation of estranged brothers Noel Gallagher and Liam Gallagher, who have put their 15-year feud aside for a string of sold-out gigs next summer.
The potential Oasis documentary would follow in the footsteps of Apple's acclaimed "Get Back" documentary, which explored the making of The Beatles' 1970 "Let It Be" album. The insider source revealed, "This is set to be the film of the decade, with Apple TV+ proposing huge money."
Apple TV+ faces competition from streaming rivals Amazon Prime and Netflix to secure the rights to film the Gallagher brothers' reunion. The documentary would offer an unprecedented glimpse into the brothers' preparations for the concerts and the rekindling of their relationship.
Oasis has recently returned to the top of the UK music charts following the announcement of the reunion concerts. The band has not performed together since 2009 when a backstage dispute between the brothers led to Noel's departure. The upcoming tour will span 17 gigs across the UK and Ireland, beginning in Cardiff in July 2023.
The high demand for tickets has resulted in disappointment and inflated prices for many fans. A government watchdog is currently investigating the ticket sales process.
