The embattled hip-hop mogul is being held at Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center, which conditions are described as 'difficult' and 'inhumane' by his attorney, while awaiting trial.

AceShowbiz - Sean "P. Diddy" Combs apparently needs extra supervision during his stay behind bars. According to a new report, the embattled music mogul is placed on suicide watch while he awaits trial for alleged sex crimes.

It is not known if the rapper is suicidal or how long he has been on suicide watch. Sources tell PEOPLE that it is for preventative measures as Combs is in shock and his mental state is unclear. According to the U.S Department of Justice National Institute of Corrections, suicide watch is "supervisory precautions taken for suicidal inmates that require frequent observation."

The 54-year-old music mogul has been imprisoned in Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center since he was arrested on Monday night, September 16. The next day, it was revealed that he's charged with sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engaged in prostitution.

He pleaded not guilty, but has been denied bail twice although his attorney Marc Agnifilo proposed a bail package that included $50 million bond, home detention with GPS monitoring, drug testing and restrictions on visitors.

Prosecutors maintained that Diddy's history of witness intimidation and obstruction of justice made him a flight risk. "The government has shown by clear and convincing evidence that the defendant is a danger to the community and poses a serious risk of flight," said Emily Johnson, Assistant U.S. Attorney.

On Wednesday, U.S. District Judge Andrew L. Carter upheld the previous decision, ruling that the government had provided "clear and convincing evidence" that the music mogul posed a risk to the community. Judge Carter said the bail package the defense offered was "insufficient," agreeing with the government that there was "no condition that would assure" Diddy would not "obstruct justice" if he were released.

Following the second failed attempt to get him released on bond, Diddy's attorney told reporters, "We're not giving up by a long shot." He continued, "I'm going to do everything that I can to move his case as quickly as possible. We're going to fight this case with all of our might until we don't have to fight any longer." He also claimed that housing conditions in Metropolitan detention facility are "difficult" and "inhumane."

Meanwhile, former Bad Boy artist Shyne Barrow, who had been taking neutral stance amid lawsuits filed at Diddy, has spoken up against his former boss following the arrest. "I was defending him and he turned around and called witnesses to testify against me. He pretty much sent me to prison," he said in a press conference in his native Belize, without providing details to back up his charges.

Shyne, who was sentenced to 10 years in prison for a 1999 shooting involving Diddy, added, "Let's not lose sight of what the cold hard facts are. This is not someone who I vacationed with and someone who I enjoyed this great, intimate relationship of brotherhood. This is someone who destroyed my life, and who I forgave, and who I moved on, and for the better interest of Belize because he was in the position at that time to give scholarships and maybe to invest. I would not deny attempting to bring the investment to Belize and bring the contributions to education."
