AceShowbiz - Nicolas Cage's "Spider-Noir" series, coming to MGM+ and Prime Video in 2025, has added eight new actors to its recurring cast. Lukas Haas, Cameron Britton, Cary Christopher, Michael Kostroff, Scott MacArthur, Joe Massingill, Whitney Rice and Amanda Schull will join the previously announced Nicolas Cage, Lamorne Morris, Brendan Gleeson, Abraham Popoola, Li Jun Li and Jack Huston.
The series follows an aging and down-on-his-luck private investigator (Cage) in 1930s New York who must confront his past as the city's only superhero. The characters played by the new cast members remain undisclosed.
"Spider-Noir" is the first live-action project to feature the character from the comic books, where he is the Peter Parker of Earth-90214. In the comics, Spider-Man Noir is a gun-toting, gang-busting vigilante who fights organized crime and corruption.
The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television exclusively for MGM+ and Prime Video. Harry Bradbeer will direct and executive produce the first two episodes, with Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot serving as co-showrunners and executive producers.
Uziel and Lightfoot developed the series with Phil Lord, Christopher Miller and Amy Pascal, the Academy Award-winning team behind "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse". Lord and Miller executive produce for their shingle Lord Miller, and Amy Pascal will also serve as an executive producer via Pascal Pictures. "Spider-Noir" will debut domestically on MGM+'s linear channel and globally on Prime Video.
