AceShowbiz - Saoirse Ronan and Jack Lowden, who married in July, made a stylish appearance at the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday, September 15. Ronan looked stunning in a navy blue Louis Vuitton gown, while Lowden was dapper in a navy blue black Louis Vuitton tuxedo.
Lowden was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for the Apple TV+ series "Slow Horses", but the award went to Billy Crudup for "The Morning Show". Ronan and Lowden have generally kept their relationship private, but they have recently shared more on social media.
Ronan spoke about the inspiration behind her role in the upcoming film "The Outrun", which she co-produced with Lowden. The film is based on Amy Liptrot's memoir and centers around Rona (Ronan), who returns to her homeland to heal from alcoholism.
Ronan said her husband suggested she play Rona, and she was drawn to the story because she has seen the impact of addiction firsthand. "I've watched people I love change because of addiction," she said. "There's a helplessness you feel when you watch someone you love go through that."
Ronan said she had to put aside her own feelings towards alcohol to play Rona and that the film has changed her relationship with drinking. "I'm more conscious of my intake," she said.
"The Outrun" hits theaters on October 4, and the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards were dominated by "The Crown" and "The Bear" with "Abbott Elementary" also winning big.
