AceShowbiz - Bowen Yang recently shared an amusing anecdote on the 2024 Emmys red carpet about Ryan Gosling's vocal struggles during his hosting gig on "Saturday Night Live" in April 2023.
Yang revealed that Gosling borrowed his throat mister after losing his voice the night before the episode. "I have not washed it since," joked Yang, who is also nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.
Yang expressed surprise at his Emmy nomination, saying, "It didn't register. [I thought], 'That doesn't make any sense. I'm nominated with some of the best dramatic actors that are on TV right now.' "
The comedian also spoke about his upcoming film "Wicked", where he developed a close friendship with Ariana Grande. "Those were long days and hard days, but we all got along so well," he said. "Favorite part of that whole experience was watching Mommy Dearest with Ari and just us laughing at how campy that movie is."
In addition, Yang discussed his involvement in "Hot White Heist", a podcast series that follows his character Judy Fink and an LGBTQIA+ crew on a heist. "It's felt really eye-opening this season to do it through that queer lens of thinking about how meaningful it is... no matter who the other person is, even if they're in opposition to you, there is something queer about two units interacting with each other that is very interesting."
