AceShowbiz - Steve-O revealed in an interview with Consequence that he planned to create a disguise to trick groups of men on the street. The idea sparked backlash when he discussed it with a transgender grocery store clerk, who expressed concerns about the potential harm it could cause.
The clerk described the widespread discrimination and oppression faced by transgender people, including bathroom restrictions, ID issues, and internment camp threats. Steve-O realized the prank could contribute to such oppression.
Originally scheduled for an 8 A.M.surgery, Steve-O's implant plan fell through when the anesthesiologist backed out due to ethical concerns. This set off a chain reaction, leaving Steve-O without a surgery center to perform the procedure.
Despite support from some transgender people who believed the prank could be handled sensitively, Steve-O acknowledged the potential for harm and opted to cancel the implant plan.
"I knew what my intention was [...] but I was trying to get laughs," said Steve-O. "It would have been a mixed bag, but framed like that, I thought about it in a way I hadn't before."
Steve-O's "The Super Dummy Tour" will still take place in theaters across the U.S. this fall, without the breast implant prank.
