AceShowbiz - Tate McRae's recent social media post has sparked a debate on social media. The Canadian singer/dancer was accused of being a part of Illuminati following her pictures, which she uploaded on Instagram on Saturday, September 7, to promote her upcoming song "It's ok I'm ok".

Not letting the rumors spread like wild fire, the 21-year-old has taken to her Instagram Story to address the speculation. "Y'all are crazy ahahaha it's just an ok symbol w my hands," she wrote, along with one of the images in question.

The speculation arose after Tate posted two pictures of her making an "OK" gesture with her hands. In one of the snaps, she put her hands around her eyes. "6 days til I'm ok," she captioned the photos.

Some of her followers interpreted her hand gesture as an Illuminati symbol. "Not the Illuminati symbols pleaseeee," someone commented under the post, while another remarked, "Weird hand gestures." A third claimed that the pose has a message that was "far more sinister."

Tate was taken aback by the allegations. In the comments section of her post, she wrote, "Y'all what are these comments."

Thankfully, not all of her followers were caught up in the conspiracy storm. Some have come to her defense, with one telling the speculators, "Guys this is not the Illuminati sign lol y'all are always trying to make Tate look bad please stop." Another added, "Sometimes a hand gesture is just a hand gesture. If she gives someone the middle finger, is that an Illuminati symbol too?"

A third elaborated, "im not gonna comment on every post that makes me upset, but guys its literally JUST an 'okay' sign. please go educate yourselves before accusing her of 'selling her soul.' its for her new single coming out called 'its ok i'm ok.' i thought it was common sense, esp if you've been keeping up with tate."

Tate's new song "It's ok I'm ok" is scheduled to be released on Thursday, September 12.
