AceShowbiz - "Selling Sunset" fans, brace yourselves for a storm of drama as the popular reality series gears up for its Season 8 premiere on September 6. The real estate agents of The Oppenheim Group are embroiled in a controversy that has left viewers on the edge of their seats before the episodes have even aired.
Chrishell Stause, 43, set social media ablaze after threatening to quit the Netflix show. Incensed by a rumor spread by her co-star Nicole Young, 38, Stause took to Instagram to publicly slam Young and the show's producers, Done and Done Productions, for allegedly allowing a damaging and false narrative to air.
The rumor in question, according to multiple sources, involves claims that Emma Hernan, 32, had an affair with a married man. Nicole made these assertions on camera, sparking a backlash from her co-stars.
"Someone needs to take my phone," Stause wrote, adding, "Are we really still giving air time to LIARS that just want air time?" She continued, "I will NEVER work on a show with her on it again. I would rather be sued. Disclaimer when you watch: just know she spews a disgusting lie about a bestie that is categorically FALSE and SUPER damaging. It is NOT TRUE."
Stause wasn't alone in her outrage. Chelsea Lazkani, 31, also took to Instagram to voice her displeasure. "Good morning everyone, except for [Nicole Young]," she wrote. "[Nicole] you are the most diabolical piece of [trash] I've ever met." Lazkani criticized both Young and the production company for prioritizing sensationalism over integrity, writing, "Spreading lies for views is so damaging."
Nicole Young, meanwhile, has defended her actions, insisting her comments were based on hearsay and her commitment to "the sanctity of all marriages." In an Instagram Story, she wrote, "Instead of attacking me and accusing me of lying, I think you ladies need to ask your bestie some tough questions. Even still, I stated this info as a rumor."
The explosive fallout has placed selling Sunset in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons, but it remains to be seen how these tensions will affect the cast's dynamics going forward. Emma Hernan has yet to publicly address the rumor but has received heartfelt support from both Stause and Lazkani.
As fans eagerly await the new season, it's clear that the off-screen drama might just overshadow the on-screen realty battles. Whether this controversy will elevate or mar the show remains to be seen. Until then, viewers can't help but speculate about the truth behind the scenes at The Oppenheim Group.
