AceShowbiz - "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" is about to get a heavy dose of nostalgia with the return of Phaedra Parks for its 16th season. To amp up the excitement, Parks is keen on bringing back yet another memorable member, Kim Zolciak.
Phaedra Parks, widely recognized for her dynamic presence on the Bravo series, eagerly announced her return to the RHOA via Instagram on July 29. In conversation with PEOPLE, Parks expressed her hopes for Kim Zolciak's return, acknowledging the added spice Zolciak would bring to the show. "If Kim Zolciak comes back, I think that would be very interesting. Kim is TV gold. She's always been TV gold," Parks said.
However, Zolciak's return isn't without complications. At 46, she has her hands full with six children, her ongoing press tours for MTV's "The Surreal Life", and navigating her divorce from estranged husband Kroy Biermann. "Right now, she's got a lot going on," stressed Parks, amazed at how Zolciak has transitioned from having two daughters to a "whole little basketball team of children!"
Despite her busy schedule, Parks remains hopeful, believing Zolciak would be a fun and captivating addition for both the cast and fans. "I think everyone would love to see Kim come back," she commented. "She's fun. I think it would add an element that the girls wouldn't be expecting."
Parks herself is excited about her return, describing it as "a real welcome home feeling." Recalling her first appearance on "RHOA" in season 3 and her departure in season 9, she revealed feeling enraptured by the fans' consistent clamor for her comeback. "When that moment arrived, they called and I answered," she explained.
Parks has ambitious plans for her return, aiming to revive the show's golden days. "I will say this, it's going to be an amazing season. I mean, it will definitely be reminiscent to the Housewives you love originally," she confidently teased.
Joining Parks in the dramatic reboot is another fan-favorite, Porsha Williams. Together, they promise some "entertaining moments," with Parks affectionately noting, "We are the original frick and frack." The season's cast also features Drew Sidora, Shamea Morton Mwangi, Kelli Ferrell, Brittany Eady and Angela Oakley. In addition, Cynthia Bailey will make an appearance as a friend.
Although the premiere date for season 16 of "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" remains under wraps, fans can catch up on previous episodes on Peacock.
