AceShowbiz - Jerry O'Connell, best known for his role in "Star Trek: Lower Decks", is married to Rebecca Romijn, who played the iconic supervillain Mystique in the first three "X-Men" films. At Comic Cons, O'Connell enjoys collecting rare Mystique figurines, despite Romijn's slight embarrassment.
"My wife was Mystique in 'X-Men', and whenever I come to a con, I look for obscure, unique Mystique figures and figurines. We collect them and I put them up," O'Connell told ComicBook. He added, "I put it up, it's mine, and my wife is a little embarrassed by it, but it's my Mystique shelf."
Romijn's experience on "X-Men" was generally positive, despite her negative experience with director Brett Ratner on "The Last Stand". Romijn has expressed her willingness to reprise her role as Mystique.
In addition to their "X-Men" connection, O'Connell and Romijn have collaborated on projects such as "The Death of Superman" and "Lower Decks". The duo is often praised for their public displays of affection and shared sense of humor.
O'Connell's recent Comicpalooza appearance as Mystique showcased his playful nature and love for his wife's past role. Season 5 of "Star Trek: Lower Decks" is set to premiere on Paramount+ on October 24th, featuring the crew of the U.S.S. Cerritos facing challenges such as closing "space potholes" and dealing with Klingon diplomacy.
