AceShowbiz - Latto (formerly Mulatto) has seemingly hinted at a rift in her family. The hip-hop artist has taken a jab at her father, claiming that he has been stealing from her and accusing her of being in the Illuminati.
The "B***h from da Souf" raptress made the shady remark when sharing a heartwarming post about a woman who surprised her father, revealing herself as the pilot of the plane he was flying on. Seemingly to point out the contrast between the said relationship and her relationship with her father, she wrote in the caption, "Awww my dad steals from me & tell everyone I'm in the Illuminati."
Latto's sneaky diss at her father immediately left people confused considering her prior defense of her father. "Since when? I thought she was always biggin up her Dad. I must've missed a season," one user asked on X (formerly Twitter). Another wrote, "The same dad that saved her from gettin beat by SupaPeach some years back at some music festival, that dad?!?"
Meanwhile, a third fan seemingly noticed this volatile relationship and brought up her song "No Hook", on which Latto raps, "I came home from school and seen bags, hella drugs/ Lost the bond with my daddy for some money and a buzz/ Swear the industry the devil, s**t, it is what it was/ Ain't no stranger on the 'net finna tell me 'bout my life, though."
Latto has previously defended her father on multiple occasions over the years. During her beef with Nicki Minaj in 2022, she fired back at rumors of a dramatic age gap in her parents' relationship."Loud & wrong again," she wrote when her foe brought up the report. "They was both teenagers in high school bookie they still married lmao."
The 25-year-old, however, wasn't shy to admit that she wasn't always on good terms with her dad. During a cover interview for XXL's Winter 2023 issue, she stated, "I've had a lot of regrets... Mixing family and business, that's like, one of my biggest regrets. I was introduced to everyone with my dad as my manager, and now we don't even speak, so it's like, I hate that."
The Grammy-nominated artist also explained what led to her and her father no longer speaking. She opened up, "Money. Industry s**t. Ego s**t infiltrated by industry bulls**t. They be saying [your parent as your manager] never works out anyway, so I wish I would have just never even did it."
