The 'Jane the Virgin' alum has been cast as a series regular in Season 3 of the ABC series as Marion Alba, an Assistant District Attorney new to Atlanta.

AceShowbiz - Gina Rodriguez, known for her roles on "Jane the Virgin" and "Not Dead Yet", has joined the cast of ABC's "Will Trent" for Season 3 as Marion Alba, an Assistant District Attorney new to Atlanta.
Marion is described as charismatic and confident, but her initial encounter with Will (Ramón Rodriguez) is less than ideal. Despite their rocky start, they are forced to work together to investigate a crime in Atlanta's gang world.
"Will Trent" is based on Karin Slaughter's bestselling book series about Special Agent Will Trent of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI). Abandoned at birth and raised in the foster care system, Will's unique perspective and dyslexia allow him to approach crime and justice with a different lens.
In addition to Rodriguez, "Will Trent" stars Sonja Sohn, Erika Christensen, Iantha Richardson and Jake McLaughlin. The series is executive produced by star Ramon Rodriguez, author Slaughter, Liz Heldens, Daniel Thomsen, Oly Obst, Howard Deutch and Ellen Marie Blum. Heldens and Thomsen serve as co-showrunners.
Rodriguez's casting marks a continuation of her relationship with ABC/Disney, following her roles in "Not Dead Yet", "Diary of a Future President" and "Lucky 13". She is represented by WME and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.
