AceShowbiz - Actor Michael Madsen, best known for his captivating performances in Quentin Tarantino's classics such as "Reservoir Dogs" and the "Kill Bill" series, was arrested over the weekend on a charge of misdemeanor domestic battery.
The 66-year-old actor was detained by authorities in Malibu at approximately 1:15 A.M. on Saturday, August 17, as detailed in online arrest records. His bail was set at $20,000 and he has since been released.
The incident, classified under California Penal Code section 243(e)(1), involved an alleged act of force or violence against a spouse or cohabitant. Madsen's representative confirmed the actor's return home, stating, "It was a disagreement between Michael and his wife, which we hope resolves positively for them both."
According to reports, the altercation involved Madsen pushing his wife, DeAnna Madsen, and subsequently locking her out of their residence. Authorities from the Malibu/Lost Hill Sheriff's Station responded to a call shortly after midnight. DeAnna refused medical treatment and reported being safe when the police arrived.
This recent arrest adds to a challenging period in Madsen's life. Back in February 2022, the actor faced misdemeanor trespassing charges, an incident occurring one month after the tragic suicide of his 26-year-old son, Hudson.
Reflecting on his son's unexpected death, Madsen previously shared, "I didn't see any signs of depression. It's so tragic and sad. I'm just trying to make sense of everything and understand what happened."
Madsen and DeAnna have been married since 1996 and share three sons: Hudson, Luke, and Calvin. Despite the turbulent times, Madsen recently posted a photo congratulating their son Luke on what appeared to be a graduation. The actor also has two other children, Christian and Max, from a previous marriage to actress Jeannine Bisignano.
Throughout his career, Madsen has been a steadfast presence in the film industry, frequently collaborating with Quentin Tarantino. His performances in "Reservoir Dogs", "Kill Bill Vol. 1" and "Vol. 2", and "The Hateful Eight" have cemented his reputation as a versatile and compelling actor. Despite recent off-screen challenges, Madsen continues to work, with his latest role being in the 2024 drama film "Max Dagan".
