AceShowbiz - Dr. Dre isn't just about beats and rhymes anymore. The legendary hip hop producer has revealed his serious intent to compete in archery at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. While some fans may find the idea far-fetched, two-time Olympic gold medalist Justin Huish is all in on Dre's Olympic dream.
"Anyone can do it at any age. There's not really an age limit," Huish told TMZ Sports, showing his enthusiasm for training the 59-year-old music mogul.
As luck would have it, both Dre and Huish are Southern California natives, making logistics a non-issue. "I'll come to your house. I will train you. I will dedicate my time to train with you," the 49-year-old archer promised.
Dr. Dre, whose real name is Andre Young, has a history with archery dating back to middle school. He has rekindled his passion for the sport, practicing regularly in his backyard, albeit at a distance shorter than the Olympic standard.
"I have it set up in my backyard and I heard qualifying for the Olympics is 77 feet. I practice at 90," Dre stated, adding that he's "dead a** serious" about wanting to represent Team USA.
Huish isn't just offering his personal time and expertise; he's also opening doors to invaluable resources. He mentioned he could connect Dre with Team USA coaches and get him the necessary equipment. "If you're really serious about this, hit me up. We'll make it happen!" Huish urged.
The excitement doesn't end there. Huish himself is eyeing a return to the Olympic stage in 2028, making the idea of training alongside Dre even more compelling. Both share the unique opportunity of possibly competing on home soil, a once-in-a-lifetime chance that adds a personal touch to their Olympic aspirations.
While Dre's journey to Olympic archery is just beginning, he's also balancing other high-profile projects. He's currently working on a collab album with Snoop Dogg titled "Missionary," which promises to showcase a mature evolution of their music.
Whether or not Dr. Dre makes it to the Olympic roster, the prospect is undeniably exciting, both for his fans and for the broader community. With a champion like Huish in his corner, Dre's bold new ambition might just hit the bullseye.
