AceShowbiz - Marvel fans rejoiced when Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio reprised their roles as Daredevil and Kingpin in the MCU, surprising even the actors themselves. After Netflix canceled the "Defenders" shows, Cox had given up hope on a return.
However, in 2020, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige extended an invitation to bring Daredevil into the MCU. The upcoming miniseries will see the return of several Netflix stars, including Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, and Jon Bernthal as Punisher.
Cox was initially skeptical about D'Onofrio's optimism, believing Daredevil was "definitely over." However, D'Onofrio persisted, and their predictions proved true. The two actors expressed their shock and excitement at the revival of their iconic characters.
Marvel released a first look at "Daredevil: Born Again" at D23, showcasing the return of Daredevil, Kingpin, and other beloved characters, including White Tiger. Marvel Studios' Head of Streaming, Television, and Animation, Brad Winderbaum, teased the evolution of these characters in the MCU.
"The characters have matured," Winderbaum explained. "The universe is different than it was. Things have changed, and their characters are gonna collide in ways we've never seen before."
"Daredevil: Born Again" promises to continue the gritty and character-driven narrative of the Netflix series while incorporating it into the broader MCU tapestry. The miniseries is set to premiere on Disney+ in March 2025.
